Condition

The board is sound and laid down on panel. This work is in good condition. A close inspection reveals a raised natural defect in the support towards the centre of the left edge which was painted over by the artist, and a restored flattened crease across the lower left corner with associated spots of retouching visible under UV light. Examination under UV light also reveals a few small scattered areas of retouching along the edges, possibly to cover old frame abrasion.
