Catalogue Note
Les cannes de notable Téké ornées de deux personnages - ici un homme et une femme - sont très rares, et celle-ci constitue, par la qualité de la sculpture, leur témoin le plus remarquable. A la dynamique des volumes, jouant sur l'accentuation des points de rupture, répond la force d'expression des grands yeux sertis d'éclats de faïence, augmentée par la présence de la charge magico-religieuse enveloppant l'abdomen. Voir Sodergren (2008, p. 90-91) pour une canne Téké à un personnage, probablement de la même main; et Dapper (2002, p. 148) pour une autre, dont la hampe est également à quatre facettes.
