"La plupart des sifflets-clés en ivoire figuratifs représentent, à l'instar de certains ikhoko, les masques de type fumu ou pumbu, [...] ce qui nous amène à tenter d'associer symboliquement ces aérophones aux masques mbuya" (Baeke in Felix, 2012, p. 34). Voir Felix (2012, p. 31, n° 288) pour un sifflet très comparable dans les collections du Musée des Instruments de musique (Bruxelles) avant 1912 ; et de Sousberghe (1959, n° 139) pour celui de l'Ethnographic Museum d'Anvers (inv. n° AE.847).
