Catalogue Note

Cette arme faucille double bango, que Jan Elsen identifie comme Ngala/Ngata et date de 1880-1920, se distingue par le très rare motif en doubles volutes accentuant l'élégance du mouvement convergent des "bras". Selon Elsen (2003, p. 154), les anciennes armes faucilles se distinguent en particulier par les protubérances biconvexes de la poignée, "plus petites et souvent plus aplaties que celles de la deuxième génération" - comme ici. 
Voir Fischer & Zirngibl (1978, p. 114, n° 199 et 200) pour deux armes comparables présentant le même rare motif en volutes, l'une collectée en 1886.
