Catalogue Note
Les très rares couteaux musri de la région du Tibesti, dont la forme est comparée à celle d'un oiseau, "sont considérés par beaucoup comme le summum des couteaux de jet du Nord" (Elsen, 2003, p. 74). Voir Elsen (idem) pour le couteau musri très comparable, également doté d'une poignée en fibres tressées, dans la collection du musée Barbier-Mueller (inv. BMG 1027-155). Celui-ci se distingue par la réparation indigène de la lame. Sa beauté fut célébrée lors de la - désormais emblématique - exposition Utotombo (Bruxelles, 1988), ne comptant que quatre armes parmi les trois-cents chefs-d’œuvre d'art africain sélectionnés dans les collections privées belges.
