The colours are fairly accurate in the catalogue illustration although the dark purple and pink areas are lighter in the original, the red is more orange and the white is more creamy. The work is executed on its original canvas, not relined. Under UV light, there is no evidence of any retouching. Except 1 tiny paintloss located along the left edge, 9 cm from the extremity of the upper. The works is in good overall condtion.

« Que cela soit à l’Abbaye de Sénanque ou dans la plus humble des demeures à Gordes, un petit fenestron carré, ouvert dans un grand mur, diffuse tant de lumière… Cette même ouverture, vue de l’extérieur, se métamorphose en un cube immatériel noir, insondable. … Tel triangle s’unit tantôt au losange de gauche, tantôt au trapèze de droite, tel carré saute plus haut ou vacille vers le bas, selon que je l’accouple à un tache vert sombre ou à un morceau de ciel pâle. »
