Description

  • Greatest length 17 3/4 in. 40.1 cm.
the feathers finely carved on the front and upper edge, the convex back unworked; remains of red pigment, the base of the wing with two rectangular mortises for attachment.

Provenance

American Private Collection,  acquired in France in the early 1960s

Condition

Very good; note small chip near end of lowest feather at left, another chipped and abraded area at the tip of the wing, two small holes drilled on the surface, minor abrasions and stains. There is a minor repair at the lower right hand corner with a bit of fill at the back.
