  • An Egyptian Bronze Figure of Ptah
  • Bronze
  • Height from modern base 6 1/8 in. 15.6 cm.
standing on an inscribed rectangular base with steps in front, his hands emerging from his cloak and holding the was-scepter and ankh, and wearing bracelets, broad beaded collar, striated wavy beard with copper-inlaid beard straps, and close-fiting cap with engraved tassel falling over the cloak in back, his face with gold-overlaid eyes and copper-inlaid eyebrows.

Condition

Generally good. The proper left ear is much worn, other minor nicks and abrasions, surface somewhat worn, copper inlay especially, two small spots of bronze disease behind the proper left shoulder, bottom of pedestal at rear left corner is chipped.
