  • Height as restored 24 1/4 in. 61.6 cm.
standing on a molded rectangular base with the weight on her right leg, and wearing sandals, chiton, and himation tied in a knot between her breasts, her hair falling in twin corkscrew curls over the upper back.

Provenance

acquired by the present owner in the early 1960s at a house sale in Sherman, Connecticut

Condition

As shown. Chips and abrasions. Head restored. Proper left forearm once restored, presumably in marble, corroded iron pin remaining. Proper right forearm restored in marble with restored hand missing. Some small chips especially in lower part of drapery restored in painted plaster. Hold on top of base close to front left corner, now plugged with fill material. Lower back with areas of encrustation and root marks. Surface appears to have been repolished in front.
