worked with central ribbon tied group of trophies including quiver and bow and musical instruments, with a scrolling ribbon and flowering trail border, on a burgundy ground

Condition

Colours not as orange in hue. Browns are darker and more attractive, not so terracotta. The motifs are crisp and lively greens, blues and greens in reality. Browns are darker around edges where metal thread wrapped around a darker core thread, which in reality makes the panel sparkle in the light. The whole panel is covered in fine chain stitch in metal thread. All the polychrome silk motifs are worked in very fine chain stitch. Some loose threads and minor abrasions and some tarnishing and losses to metal thread. With a green silk backing. Overall in good condition. Very decorative panel.
