Condition
The colours are less red overall than in the catalogue illustration. Under UV there are scattered minor spots of cosmetic retouching overall. There are a couple of light scuffs visible in the catalogue illustration (one in the black pigments).
Held in a decorative red and gold-painted frame.

Catalogue Note
Kostantin Kapidagli was court painter to Sultan Selim III during his reign (1789-1807). He painted commission portraits of Selim III himself, as well as a series of portraits of twenty-eight historical Ottoman sultans, now in the Topkapi Sarayi Müzesi, Istanbul.
