Catalogue Note

Like the previous lot this work relates to a composition in Receuil de divers portraits by de la Chappelle, introducing the balustrade and drapery found in the plate titled Femme grecque vêtue à l'Athénienne but retaining the figure in Greek national dress and the sweeping view of the Golden Horn in the background as seen in the previous lot.
