of rectangular format, the central square with a floral roundel enclosing a flowerhead and star, with alternating tulip and carnations, with elements of further design around edges, within a four-sided border with scrolling leaf design, now mounted on later stretcher

Condition

Colours less bold, and more muted. The appearance is crisper and more defined.Velvet pile in good condition generally, except to some of palmettes in the border. Silver metal-thread ground to alternating leaf motifs in the border have some losses and there are some abrasions and loose threads in the satin ground. Edges are bound with silk and cotton crimson fabric, possibly near contemporary. Unusual size and format.
