The first, a needlework sampler, Eliza Riddell, probably Baltimore, Maryland, January 183?. Worked in silk stitches on a linen ground, with a pious verse, above a house, pine tree birds in flowering rose bush. Above John Riddell DD Margaret Riddell. Some fading and discoloration. Appears to be original veneered frame. 21 by 17 1/4  inches. Together with a rare white-work sampler, probably Pennsylvania, circa 1800, with fine drawn-work, embroidered with birds perched on tree trunks. 7 1/4  by 8 1/2  inches and an all-white darning sampler (9 by 8 inches). 2 pieces.

With discoloration and fading to top right.
