Condition

The subject is in good condition, the margins trimmed slightly, the colors very slightly attenuated, the plate and issue numbers erased, and the sheet laid down so the watermark is not visible. Three repaired tears, the largest of which extends across the lower left corner, with a few small nicks in the sheet edges. A small triangle-shaped nick in the area immediately under the throat, and a few faint areas of abrasion across the legs. Some surface soiling with remnants of adhesive across the top sheet edge, mat stain, a few small fox marks scattered across the body and in the unprinted areas of the sheet.
