comprising three faceted baluster vases with covers and two gu-shaped beaker vases, each of octagonal section, the domed covers mounted with seated lions, the rounded shoulders elegantly tapering to a splayed foot, painted in bright enamels with rectangular panels alternating with birds and butterflies amongst flowers and foliage issuing from rockwork, set between foliate scrolls on a swirl-diaper ground, the neck painted with floral sprays on a cell-diaper border, the decoration repeated on each beaker

Condition

Covers - one has a restored chip to one corner and the finial has been off and restored back on. The finial has some flaking to the enamels and overpainting. One cover is in good condition with just a minor chip and frits to the rim edge and some flaking to the finial. The other cover has had the finial restored back on. All three covers have some minor patches of flaking to the enamels. Gu vases - one is in good condition. The other has extensive restoration to the upper section of the neck above the square boss. The restoration is well done but yellowed. Baluster vases - the enamels on one vase are of slightly different tone and the painting has slight differences in execution to the other two. This vase has an area of restoration to one side of the rim, with a restored crack extending half way down the body. One vase has minor restoration to one corner of the rim. One vase is in good condition.
