Appears to retain its original finial.  Dial inscribed Simon Willard, Boston. The throat panel decorated with Lady Liberty and inscribed Willard's Patent.

Appears to retain its original finial; regilded; numbers on dial reinforced; case refinished; inside of backboard has been sanded; backboard has been removed and reattached; tapered, fluted pedestal has been cracked, reglued and regilded; lower acorn drop possibly replaced; lacking gilded gessoed sphere on proper right corner of base.
