Catalogue Note

Somewhat similar fruit and nut borders occur most commonly in salt-glazed stoneware plates and dishes and appear to be more rare in Whieldon-type examples. A similar plate, from the estate of Joan and Herbert Klee, was sold at Christie's, New York, April 19, 1991, lot 58.
