SURFACE: there are scattered spots of flaking on the work, most of them along the upper and lower edges--where pigment has started to lift from board (an area, about 2 in square, at upper edge, right corner where paint has actually has lifted) UNDER ULTRA VIOLET: no apparent inpainting
