Canvas is lined. SURFACE: surface has been compressed from relining, but retention of details and color is good UNDER ULTRA VIOLET: hard to see through old varnish and dark pigments; still life portion is pretty clear (just a few isolated dots/ dashes); heavy repaints to background and a 4 in. repaired tear (diagonal)--starts at left side of bottom of basket and goes down and left
