Canvas is not lined (but there is a large cardboard backing behind the canvas and under the frame) SURFACE: in good condition; dirty surface--could use a cleaning UNDER ULTRA VIOLET: there is a long diagonal line which fluoresces (in a yellowish tinge)--starts at upper right in sky and extends down and left into sea (about 17 in.)--there is the hint of a crack along the line in the sky, but, there is no real break in brushstroke to indicate restoration (perhaps this is a pentimento?)
