Condition

The following condition report has been prepared by Julius Lowy Art Conservation: The artwork is a watercolor painted executed on paper with its tacking edges intact mounted to a wooden panel with an aqueous based adhesive. The bottom tacking edge bears the inscription: Man Reading, Monhegan Is. The mounting is the artist's original construction. The paper support, as well as the watercolor media layers, are in good and stable condition. Ultraviolet examination reveals a fluorescence of normal artist materials with no evidence of prior restoration present. Upon visual inspection, the artwork appears to be clean. The painting is signed at the lower right in pen: James Wyeth . The artwork is in excellent condition overall.
