Condition

Very good condition for an object of this type and age. Minor marks, nicks, scratches, and abrasions consistent with age and use. Minor chipping and wear around rim and to holes for attachments. Chip at proper left top on reverse. Remains of basketwork attached to top section on both sides, fragmentary as seen in catalogue photograph. Partially crusty surface with remains of black and red pigment. The reverse with fine aged dark brown patina. Pencil inscription on reverse: "5821"; white ink: "I.C.5821"; black ink: "I.C.5821 / Ramu / Dr. Bässler."; and another indistinct pencil inscription.
