Condition

Good condition for an object of this type and age. Bottom section is fragmentary as seen in catalogue photograph. Area of insect damage to exposed wood on reverse. Minor abrasions, dents, and bent metal elements. Some metal strips loose, particularly those around the top of the neck. Nose slightly loose. Age cracks to wood where metal strips are inserted around edge of the reverse. Exceptionally fine aged oxidized patina to the metal with verdegris and encrustation. Permanently affixed to base with post.
