Condition

Very good condition for an object of this type and age. Shaft beneath bowl is wood. Chip to the back of one of two disks at the attachment of the shaft to the gourd, these held in place with metal tacks. Minor scratches, marks, nicks and abrasions from age and use. Two holes just below the curve of the mouthpiece for clearing smoke. Mouthpiece plugged with residue. Remnants of fur on hide covering wrapped around the small clay bowl on top. Exceptionally fine reddish patina to gourd with encrustation.
