Condition

Overall good original condition. The outer maple case is executed in veneer and presently that veneer with minor lifting and buckling, along the seams and along the edges of the case, which make it appear bumpy to the touch. Light rubbing and dullness to the finish of the veneer consistent with age and use. One minor loss to the veneer along an outer seam on the proper right side that measures one inch in length, and the loss has been retained. The lacquered drawer fronts with some scattered abrasions and surface scratches. The metal legs are removable for shipping purposes. Each of the legs with a few minor surface scratches. This work epitomizes the work of Godley-Schwan and their deeply sculptural design sensibility.

Catalogue Note

According to Lyn Godley, no more than four examples of this iconic work of the American Furniture Movement were produced by the designers.  Neotu Gallery briefly re-issued the model in 1990s in a small series.
