Provenance

Acquired directly from the artist by Dr. and Mrs. William Abelove, 1970
Sotheby's New York, June 14, 2008, lot 148
Acquired from the above by the present owner

Condition

The present lot of chairs was acquired by the original owners to be used with the table on offer in this auction as lot 132 and shows similar coloration to the walnut base. The chairs are in excellent condition and appear to only have been gently used. With some minor surface scratches to the seats and lower portion of the legs on a few of the chairs, consistent with use. The set is well matched and appears to have received the same sun exposure and have maintained a consistent color.
