Description
- George Nakashima
- Pair of "Kornblut" Cabinets
- with client's name to underside
- English walnut and East Indian rosewood
Provenance
Acquired directly from the artist by the present owner
Condition
Overall excellent condition. These pieces have been sensitively cared for and waxed by the owner and their current condition shows that care and only very gentle signs of use. With a later wax finish. Each Kornblut has a burlwood handle, and otherwise the two works vary ever so slightly. The pair are very closely matched in the coloration and figuring. One of the kornbluts with some abrasions to the top of the back foot and a few very minor edge nicks consistent with use. The other Kornblut with a minor abrasion to top of the proper left foot. Each of the cases with a few minor white paint flecks, more prevalent to the reverse. The reverse of each piece is finished with walnut panels. A rare opportunity to acquire such a well matched pair of the Kornblut cabinets.
