Condition
Overall excellent original condition. The present lot was carefully maintained by the original owners, and the current condition of the piece demonstrates that gentle use and care. The top with a few minute surface scratches. With some scattered surface dirt to the recessed portions of the natural fissures in the top board. Each of the drawers open with ease and the lower drawers on the proper right and left are fitted for hanging files. The board used to execute the desk top is particularly thick and with dramatic figuring. This lot is being sold with a “New” Armchair. Please visit sothebys.com for a photograph of the desk and companion chair. The chair is in very good condition showing only very gentle use as well. With a few minute nicks and scratches to the lower portion of the feet consistent with use. A well matched chair and desk, and were ordered together from Nakashima.
