Condition
Overall in very good condition. The chromium-plated metal surfaces of the centerpiece and candelabrums with light surface scratches and scattered areas of rubbing. One candelabrum with a concentrated area of rubbing measuring approximately 1 inch to the vertical support of central candle. Each candelabrum with some areas of discoloration where the base meets the candlestick supports. The original glass rods are all present and intact. Each glass rod end with minute edge nicks, possibly inherent in the making, visible only upon close inspection. Each of the candelabrums with felt sliders, inserted beneath the candle cups on one and at the base of the vertical standards on the other. All appear to be inherent to the original production.

James Amster was a prominent New York designer of the early to mid-twentieth century, who is perhaps best known for designing Amster Yard on East 49th Street in New York. Several similar designs attributed to him are in the collection of the Brooklyn Museum.
