Condition
Overall very good original condition. This piece has some natural patination to the metal surfaces, which is consistent with the natural aging process of the material. This metal cannot be polished and the acquired patina is part of the aging process. This necklace is designed as wearable sculpture and therefore the contours of the design are executed to fit the human body. When worn, this piece is truly stunning. A photograph cannot capture the complexity of the design and highly sculptural form. The hook style fastener is purposefully minimal as not to take away from the overall design. A very nice example of Smith’s necklace designs.
