Description

- Floor Lamp
- shade engraved L.C.T.
base impressed TIFFANY STUDIOS/NEW YORK/428H - favrile glass and patinated bronze
Condition
Overall in very good condition. The favrile glass shade is in very good condition, with some abrasion marks just below the top aperture rim where the shade comes in contact with the base mount. The patinated bronze surfaces of the base with some occasional surface scratches, abrasions and gentle rubbing to the patina consistent with age and use. One of the outer ribbed bronze knobs on the harp ring is presently frozen and does not rotate freely—this is quite common and could be remedied if desired. Regardless, the central socket bobeche pivots freely. The socket appears to be original and undisturbed; lacking pull chain from the socket (the switch on the lamp is presently integrated with the electric cord). The shade displays beautiful luminosity and well-defined feather decoration, and is slightly more vibrant in color than seen in the catalogue illustration, which is slightly over lit and reflective.
