Description
- Charles and Ray Eames
- Second Edition ESU 400 (Eames Storage Unit)
- birch, lacquered masonite, chrome-plated steel, and laminate
Condition
Overall in very good original condition. The wooden elements of the design with minor surface scratches, abrasions and a few edge nicks. The lower portion of the wooden frame adjacent to the upper dimpled doors with a minor loss measuring one inch in length. The same wooden portion of the frame with a crack adjacent to the screw at the center, likely from over-tightening. One of the top dimpled doors lacking the vertical wooden pull. The dimpled doors with scratches and some discoloration as seen in the catalogue illustration. The upper proper left masonite panel to the reverse with abrasions and scratches. The metal elements throughout with some discolorations from age. A good example of a second edition 400 series ESU in original condition with a very nice configuration.
