Sam Maloof

This lot was designed by the Evans family as a ceramic cabinet. Like the other two works offered from this collection, this cabinet has been carefully maintained over the years and show very gentle use. The case, shelves and feet show very shallow surface scratches. The interior of the lower compartments with a single adjustable shelf. The four shelves in the upper portion of the piece are also adjustable and all the hardware remains with the work. The wood selected for this piece with beautiful figuring and rich tones. The joinery and cabinetry work is superbly executed and the piece presents beautifully with the intricate details.

This lot is being sold with an original blueprint of the cabinet design from the workshop of Sam Maloof, an original photograph taken by the studio at the time of completion and copies of correspondence between the purchasers and Maloof regarding the collection.
