Catalogue Note

Before painting Body in Scenery No. 3, Shi Chong places his model in a special-arranged room and films a video. After creating a detailed image of her, the artist copies the picture with oil paints on the canvas, demonstrating his sophisticated painting techniques here. During the painting process, he revises and improves the work, composing a unique image that a camera cannot render.
