Condition
Overall in good condition. A nice period cast displaying the expected detail. Wear to brown patina to most areas of high relief, surface scratches. The falcon attaches to the sculpture with one screw and one bolt. Please note that while the gun is not visible in the catalogue illustration, it is present. However, it is detached and will require a small soldering point. Please note that the falcon was attached in the wrong direction for the catalogue photo. It has since been turned around.

Catalogue Note
The original wax model of Fauconnier Arabe à Cheval was exhibited at the Salon of 1873. A bronze cast was submitted the following year. An immensely impressive group, examples can be found in the permanent collections of museums at Morlaix, Toulon and the Chateau de Compiègne. A silvered bronze version was exhibited at the 1900 Exposition Centenniale de l'art français (no. 1735)
