Condition

Overall in very good condition. Some rubbing to cold-painted metal surfaces, consistent with age. Scattered and minor oxidation points also consistent with age, with one area of oxidation to red-painted metal approximately 2 inches in diameter on the center of male bust's chest. Some scattered white residue which can easily be cleaned.

Catalogue Note

Louis Hottot (1834-1905) is known for his polychrome decorated bronze busts, produced in his studio on the rue des Petites Ecuries.  He participated in the Salon de la Société des artistes français from 1885 to 1898.
