  • 79 cm; 89 cm; 53.5 cm
surmounted by a Fleur de PĂȘcher marble top above a frieze drawer veneered with green-stained bird's eye maple, the lock has been removed to reveal the stamp DUVIVIER.

Condition

Overall in good condition. The marble top with the usual scratches and edge nicks consistent with age and use. The kingwood and mahogany surfaces with some scratches and nicks also consistent with age and use. The gilt bronze shows some minor wear and tarnishing due to age. Surface dust accumulation in crevices. The interior of the drawer is in good condition with a few light abrasions.

Catalogue Note

Duvivier was a locksmith on the same street as Linke's and Zwiener's workshops in the Faubourg St. Antoine in Paris.  Locks by Duvivier have been seen on early Linke and Krieger furniture.
