Catalogue Note
Although there is no exact equivalent to the present lot in the Linke photographic archives, index number 625 is a similar Louis XVI style shape but with a caned shelf, flaps and an open back. However the Linke price list for number 625 has been so heavily worked, amended and updated that it is clear that Linke offered several variations of this useful and novel model. The alterations in his book are so extensive that he has glued a scrap of paper over the original entry.
