surmounted by its original Fleur de Pêcher marble top, the cupboard door opening to a rare arrangement of six spring-released small drawers and two spring-released secret compartments, the lock has been removed to reveal the Clément Linke stamp and the index number 89, the carcass stamped MADE IN FRANCE three times in compliance with the McKinley Tariff Act.

Overall in good condition. Original gilding with light tarnishing. The key is not original. Please note that on the two secret compartments that the spring released latches are also secretly hidden. The mechanical construction of the configuration of drawers is rare and elaborate.

Linke title: Bahut Louis XV violette et marqueterie violette sur satiné.
This early model is not recorded in detail. Index number 89 had two variations, the difference being mainly the shape of the top. This example has the Linke crab-like acanthus with a marquetry inlay door. Other examples of this form were made with vernis Martin panels.
