Condition

Overall in good condition. All bronze elements are well-cast and have been recently cleaned. Approximately five of the smaller lily stems have broken off, and approximately ten buds are missing their pollen. The putti show wear to patina with some dents and scratches in places consistent with age and use. Wear to top of heads showing bare bronze. The marble base with the minor edge chips consistent with age. Drilled for electricity.

Catalogue Note

The present model design is derived from a pair of candelabras with three putti holding aloft lily-cast branches made circa 1770 and now in the Wallace Collection, London, inv. no. F138-9.
