Condition

Overall in good condition. The gilt and patinated metal surfaces with light scratches, nicks, rubbing, areas of discoloration and surface dirt throughout. Some of the reticulated gilt metal decorating the upper register of the cage with a few shallow indentations. Several of the thin metal scrolled mounts have lifted very slightly, and can be repaired. Original ceiling cap. Please note that the height listed in the catalogue does not refer to the drop, but to the overall height. This measurement includes hardware which, if retained, would screwed into ceiling and concealed by the cap. Electrified, however Sotheby's cannot confirm the stability of the current wiring.
