Overall in good condition. The marquetry veneers with surface scratches, abrasions, discoloration, fading and dryness throughout. Varnish shows dryness, cracking and scattered losses. Small restorations throughout, particularly to canted block corners of friezes. Bronze moounts are in very good condition with surface scratches consistent with age. With exception of ram's head corner mounts which appear to have been recently cleaned, all of the bronze mounts present with a layer of surface dirt, and would benefit from a professional cleaning. The bronze borders at the base show seams in places. One acanthus leaf mount on corner of base is lacking. Both pedestals appear to be lacking four mounts, indicated by the pin holes above the marquetry garlands on the sides. The center of each pedestal top with circular holes 1 3/8 inch in diameter to allow for wires or to secure a sculpture.
