the hinged top centered by a marquetry oak-leaf tied flambeau bordered by ebony and boxwood banding with four acorn and oak leaf clasps opening to a satiné-lined interior set with a beveled mirror, the frieze set with one drawer fitted with a sliding compartment and flanked by two lidded rectangular compartments, the lock signed PAUL SORMANI/Rue Charlot 10 Paris.

Overall in good condition, The gilt bronze mounts possibly regilded. The four bronze roundel part of the toupie feet have another color than the rest of the bronze. The top has a horizontal recess, although the veneers are not cracked in that place. It is not obvious to the naked eye, but apparent when touching.
