  • each panel: height 8 ft 1 1/2 in.; width 18 in.
  • 247.5 cm; 46 cm
one side depicting the birthday celebration of General Guo Ziyi (formerly Prince Zhongwu of Fenyang), the reverse of each panel with a poem carved in relief above corresponding illustrations. 

Condition

Each foot is lined with copper plates, now showing extensive tarnishing and grid oxidation. There is some restoration and overpaint throughout the screen. The cream color with some extensive yellow staining. The places of restoration and overpaint cannot be stated individually, but some are visible to the naked eye. Chips to edges, and visible black overpaint restoration to edge. Minor craquelure to varnish and some more important vertical craquelure from the wood construction, now showing through the lacquer. As a result, this lot is in fair (not good) condition.
