Condition
Each of the pieces in good original condition. The surfaces with minor rubbing to finish, areas of isolated discolorations, chips, nicks and scratches consistent with regular use. Surface dirt throughout. Each of the pieces is stable and has acquired a beautiful patina to the surfaces. A rare opportunity to acquire all the pieces designed in this suite.
In the catalogue illustration, the chair appears slightly darker in the color. This is the result of a shadow in the photo, as the chair is consistent in color with the rest of the object. The desk with some surface dirt and discolorations to the interior of the drawers. This desk was designed to be used against a wall, as the back is not finished and bears the Rhoades stencil. The chest of the drawers with some discolorations to the interior. Each of the drawers opens and closes with ease. Some white paint residue to the sides and reverse. Again, this piece was designed to be used against the wall, and therefore the back is not finished. The shelf is lacking hanging hardware, and for the purposes of the exhibition, we have used modern hanging hardware, which is not being sold with the lot. The shelf is slightly wobbly when not properly installed on the wall.
