three miniatures, comprising: (a) three-quarter page miniature of David with his harp kneeling before a prie-dieu within a rich gothic interior (92mm. high), on a leaf from a Book of Hours, 175mm. by 120mm., above a large white initial 'D' (opening "Domine ne in furore ...") enclosing a white flower, and 4 lines of text, all within a full decorated border of flowers on vellum or dull-gold panels, enclosing a bird and a weasel, 14 lines on verso with illuminated line-fillers and a decorated border panel, northern France (Rouen), c.1475; (b) three-quarter page miniature of the Presentation in the Temple (92mm. high), on a leaf 160mm. by 115mm., above 2 lines of text, and within a decorated border of foliage on panels, 15 lines of text, a 2-line initial and a border panel on reverse, northern France (Rouen), c.1475; (c) three-quarter page miniature of the Presentation in the Temple (95mm. high), on a leaf 160mm. by 123mm., above 4 lines of text and within a full border of acanthus-leaves, flowers, peapods and a bird in trompe d'oeil style, 19 lines of text and 7 initials in red, blue and liquid gold on reverse, southern Netherlands, c.1500; item (a) with slight smudge to upper border, item (c) trimmed to edge of border, else outstanding condition, all in card mounts
