STRUCTURE
The canvas appears to be unlined.
There are a few specks of surface dirt in the sky and the surface is dirty. There are two very old surface abrasions to the sky upper centre. There is a small area of paint loss to the building on the extreme right. Generally the work is in good overall condition.
ULTRAVIOLET LIGHT
UV reveals some isolated flecks and small areas of retouching to the sky. There are one or two additional isolated flecks of retouching to the bottom half of the work, including one to the water in the canal. These retouchings are not excessive.
FRAME
Held in a gilt plaster frame.
