London: Printed by the author, 1671, first edition in English, translated by John Ogilby, engraved additional pictorial title, folding general map, 48 double-page plates and maps, 6 single-page portraits and illustrations in text, map of Nova Virginiae tabula loosely inserted from another copy (coloured), Qq5 torn and repaired with loss of a few words and affecting an illustration, a few very minor holes (e.g. S1 and Dd6), lacking last leaf of text (plate list)
The number of plates and maps seems to vary in copies of this work. This appears to be the issue without the plates "Arx Carolina" at p.205 and "Virginia pars Australis & Florida" at p.213 referred to in JCB III, p.227.

It is very unusual for a full set of Ogilby's geographical works to be offered for sale. This copy is from the Botfield library which was bequeathed to the Thynne family, the Marquesses of Bath, of Longleat House, one of the great English country houses.
