marginal block of 4 from the right of the sheet, a few slight creases, some other small imperfections, good colour, large part original gum. A VERY RARE BLOCK OF THIS IMPORTANT VARIETY – FEW BLOCKS EXIST.
Catalogue Note
One full sheet of 100 was discovered at the Umtali Post Office. The sheet was extensively creased with most stamps affected to some degree. Approximately 40 of the most severely affected were cut into pairs and posted on envelopes self-addressed to H. Benson in Durban. They were, however, not posted on the same day as several are recorded for 21 February 1917 and others on 6 March and 31 July
